Where in the world is Jeff Volk?

In the last 5 years I have only seen Jeff Volk twice. In 2005, having spent two years working with him in Senegal, I said goodbye to him in the capitol of Dakar. Along with Will Brendecke, the two of them set out on their bicycles heading to Accra, Ghana. After months on the road traversing mountains, deserts, and jungle, the two of them arrived at their destination. Will flew back to the US. Jeff decided to continue on and go to Cape Town, South Africa.

I saw him again last year on New Year's Eve in New York City. He had been living in Barcelona since leaving Africa and had saved up enough money to embark on a three year trip that would take him from the Arctic circle in Alaska to Patagonia in Argentina.

Like most people that know him, I'm not sure when I will see him again. In the meantime I'll just have to remember the guy known as Bafode in Senegal, who could eat bean sandwiches like it was his job, could cook great organic meals, had a great laugh, and could make people smile in 5 different langauges.

For those of you like me who are wondering where he is, here are some incredible photos of his current trip which can be seen on his Father's blog. This time his Dad and his brother are his travel companions.

What's your favorite Jeff Volk story?
